What is ADVERB ???
An adverb can modify a verb, an adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause. An adverb indicates manner, time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as "how," "when," "where," "how much".
While some adverbs can be identified by their characteristic "ly" suffix, most of them must be identified by untangling the grammatical relationships within the sentence or clause as a whole. Unlike an adjective, an adverb can be found in various places within the sentence.
In the following examples, each of the highlighted words is an adverb:
- The seamstress quickly made the mourning clothes.
- The midwives waited patiently through a long labour.
- The boldly spoken words would return to haunt the rebel.
- We urged him to dial the number more expeditiously.
- Unfortunately, the bank closed at three today.
There are other adverbs such as
Conjunctive Adverbs : also, furthermore, moreover, still
Interrogative Adverbs : used at the beginning of questions

SUBJECT VERB AGREEMENT
Subjects and verbs must AGREE with one another in number ( singular or plural )
Thus, if a subject is singular, its verb must also be singular; if a subject is plural, its verb must also be plural.
In the present tense, nouns and verbs form plurals in opposite ways: nouns ADD an s to the singular form; verbs REMOVE the s from the singular form.
These agreement rules do not apply to verbs used in the simple past tense without any helping verbs.
The agreement rules do, however, apply to the following helping verbs when they are used with a main verb: is-are, was-were, has-have, does-do
